Thyroid cyst

A simple cyst of the thyroid is a fluid-filled sac that can form in any of the soft tissues of the neck.

Simple cysts usually do not cause symptoms or harm the function of the tissue.

Treatment is rarely needed for simple cysts that do not cause any symptoms.
