Reactive or inflammatory lymph nodes of the neck

Reactive or inflammatory lymph nodes are a relatively common finding in the neck.

These may be present due to something as benign as a recent cold, or can be due to local infection such as tonsillitis, or a systemic autoimmune disorder such as lupus.
