Mastectomy

A mastectomy is a surgey that invovles removing one or both breasts, and all of the corresponding breast tissue in order to prevent breast cancer from developing.

MRI can be used to identify any residual breast tissue which remains after a mastectomy and help inform follow-up surgery.
