About this Condition

A lung nodule is a descriptor for a lesion of the lung which is generally small (approximately 1cm in size).

A lung nodule has the potential to be benign or malignant, and as lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the developed world, a nodule must be followed up to ensure stability over time.

Stability over time ensures that the nodule is not an aggressive lung cancer and that the findings favor a benign cause.
