Brain abscess

A brain abscess is a potentially life threatening condition where an infectious agent (ie bacteria, parasite etc), lodges in the brain tissue and starts to grow and destroy the normal brain tissue.

A brain abscess often has a wall around the lesion which can make treatment difficult.
