About this Condition

A bone island, also known as enostosis, is a benign, very dense region of compact bone within the normal bone structure.

It is generally less than 2cm in size and is usually found incidentally.

A condition where multiple bone islands occur is called osteopoikilosis.

*Not covered in patients over 5 feet and 8 inches in height.
