Biliary cystadenoma

Biliary cystadenomas are benign cystic lesions of the liver.

They arise from cells in the bile ducts.

While benign, biliary cystadenomas can evolve to a malignancy called biliary cystadenocarcinoma.

Imaging alone cannot distinguish the exact time point that this evolution occurs.
